Killian makes it to Level 2
Hello again,
Today I had a number of topics to talk about like working from home or receiving my spanking new Canon XSi, but the highlight of the day was that of Killian passing his obedience training test and graduating from Level 1 to Level 2.
For those of you who may not know, Killian is my puppy a Flat-Coated Retriever Mix.
Initially during class it didn’t look good, he was not paying attention to my calling and he seemed very distracted by other dogs and smells in the air. When it rains there are a lot of scents in the air that dogs seem to like a whole lot.
We did notice, just on time, that although he was not paying attention when I would call, he would snap his neck looking for Vanessa when she would call his name. Ingrato…
He sat, downed and stood well, he also sat and downed in combination with the stay command (in his case “wait”) as well as the ‘comeback’ where he comesback to me in a walking scenario. When it came time to the name game, in which he should turn to us when calling his name, he got it right (a bit delayed) when Vanessa called. He got a lot of cookies and belly rubbing in celebration.
